My Website

So, I finally got my own website up and running.  Go check it out at www.robertbyronphotography.com!  I can't express how excited I am to get this going.  Let me know what you think!

Shooting at Black Rock tonight

I am headed out to Black Rock tonight (at the South end of GSL) to do some low-light photography.  If you want some FREE portaiture, email me (see contact page), text me, or call me and we'll set something up!

New Goal

My Goal: shoot every day possible. 

The Plan: Every day that I can, I will be out and about taking photos.  Anyone and everyone is invited to join me on any day.  I will post each day's location on Facebook and Twitter.  If you feel like meeting up with me, email me with your phone number (if I don't already have it,) and I will send you a text message or give you a call to let you know the exact place to meet me.  If you do come out, you will receive 5-10 images at no charge.

I am really looking forward to doing some spontaneous work, so don't hesitate to contact me when I send out the notices.

Why only wear it once?

Still have your wedding dress? I want to do some test bridal shoots in the very near future. Plus you get to go out in public in your wedding dress again without people thinking you are crazy! :)

Doug and Inspiration

I am a great fan of Douglas Adams, and I find that his works cause me to look at the world in ways I have not even considered before.  Below is an example from "The Salmon of Doubt":

        "For Children: You will need to know the difference between Friday and a fried egg. It's quite a simple difference, but an important one. Friday comes at the end of the week, whereas a fried egg comes out of a chicken. Like most things, of course, it isn't quite that simple. The fried egg isn't properly a fried egg until it's been put in a frying pan and fried. This is something you wouldn't do to a Friday, of course, though you might do it on a Friday. You can also fry eggs on a Thursday, if you like, or on a cooker. It's all rather complicated, but it makes a kind of sense if you think about it for a while."

It is not so much that I take direct inspiration from his writing, as it is that I attempt to apply the lessons I learn from his writing (in this case, that we forget the difficulties of understanding the subtleties of communication,) to my view of the world.  I then attempt to show people what I see.  I say attempt because, as in all forms of communication, what I say is not necessarily what another will hear.

Exploration
